We really enjoyed our meal at Mamak! They serve halal meat. The food came out quickly and everything was tasty. The sauces were especially good. I just would have liked the dishes to be just a touch spicier. The beef was tender and nicely seasoned without being overly salty. The laksa curry soup was flavorful and comforting, too. Service was good and everything came out smoothly. They’re located in the Jugso area, which makes it a convenient spot to check out. Overall, a great meal and we’d definitely come back!

Was shopping nearby, n saw empty restaurant. Food to go was fast. Smelled really good since it’s been a long time since I’ve had Malay food. The Roti was good. The curry laksa was excellent but Wish there was more protein. However, I gave 3 star cuz the Singapore stir fried noodles was the worst I’ve ever had. There was no “Singapore “ in it. Just plain rice noodles. No flavor. The average person will not know the difference, if they are not Asian.

Delicious Malaysian and Singaporean food. Our group all loved what we got: Hainan chicken and rice, char kway teow, wat tan hor, nasi lemak, super veg combo.

I used to come here back when they only had non-halal options and always ordered the vegetable laksa — it was my go-to comfort dish for years. But now that they’ve gone fully halal, I had to stop by and finally try more of the menu… and wow, I’m so glad I did! 🤍✨ The chicken satay was perfectly seasoned and super tender, and the peanut sauce it came with was absolutely delish 🤤🥜. The kids were also big fans of the roti & curry — clean plates all around! While the veggie laksa will always have a special place in my heart, the chicken curry laksa was no less amazing! A rich, warm coconut curry broth with perfectly cooked noodles, shredded chicken, and so much flavor in every bite 🍜🔥 — total comfort food vibes. Safe to say, we’ll definitely be back to try more items off the menu! If you’re in Sugar Land and craving Malaysian food, this spot deserves a visit 🙌🇲🇾

Absolutely one of the best Hainanese Chicken dishes I have tried. Laksa and Beef Rendang were also delicious but not for those with low spice tolerance. Staff are attentive and very nice. This was a surprisingly authentic and yummy find inside this strip mall.

This restaurant boasts beautiful decor and provides solid service, creating a pleasant dining experience. The spicy vegetables were a standout with their bold, flavorful kick, and the laksa was absolutely amazing—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. As one of the few authentic Malaysian restaurants in Texas, it’s a true gem. I genuinely hope they continue to thrive and share their incredible flavors for years to come!

I visited with a Malaysian friend who had been raving about how good the food was. He wasn’t lying because I enjoyed every single meal I tasted. We ordered a variety of items - fried calamari, satay beef & chicken, roti with curry sauce, stir-fried noddles, coconut rice with fried chicken, and sizzling pepper beef - all of which were absolutely delicious. I appreciated the quick and friendly service also.

Chicken Satay 5/5 They use chicken thighs and it’s good. Chicken Wings 4/5 Not bad, could be better. Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken 5/5 Fragrant Coconut Rice, Curry Chicken, Cucumber, Half Egg, Sambal with Anchovies, and Fried Peanuts & Anchovies. Penang Asam Laksa 5/5 Not bad considering this is the only place that sells it. Beef Wat Tan Hor 4/5 Not bad. They give raw eggs so be sure to ask for well down eggs if you don’t like that. Char Kuey Teow 3/5 Oily hmm Prawn Mee 3/5 Acceptable but won’t order again I guess
